Understanding and Addressing Older Infant and Toddler Feeding Challenges:
A Train-the-Trainer Conference for Professionals

June 27-29, 2018

Over the last several years, the staff at the UC Davis Human Lactation Center have collaborated with WIC agencies in California and Arizona to create and evaluate the TOTT Intervention, an expansion of the Baby Behavior intervention from 6 months to 2 years of age. Focusing on the triggers of over- and inappropriate feeding of older infants and toddlers, the TOTT intervention includes information about developmental changes that impact feeding, reasons for food refusal, the truth about tantrums, and the importance of scripts and routines.

The Conference will include:

    • Baby Behavior Review
    • Full TOTT Training
    • Teaching TOTT: overview of tools and materials, tips for tailoring trainings for target audiences, and toddler behavior in context
    • Teaching preparations and practice sessions
